Jai Narayan Vyas School of Pharmacy is a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) college located on N.H.-15, Jalipa Road, Barmer, in the far west of Rajasthan. It has been serving the region since 2006.
Barmer is a large border district with a proud cultural heritage, but for decades it lagged behind in professional and health education. With a chemist's shop often being the first point of care in remote desert villages, the need for well-trained, registered pharmacists has always been real and urgent.
The college is named after Late Shri Jai Narayan Vyas — freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of Rajasthan — who hailed from this region. In his name, the institution works to give local students a genuine, practical path into the pharmacy profession, close to home.
To make quality, affordable pharmacy education available in a border region long under-served by professional institutions — and to raise a generation of competent, ethical pharmacists for rural Rajasthan.
To teach the D.Pharma curriculum thoroughly, with full laboratory and hospital practice, so that every graduate is fit to register with the Pharmacy Council and serve patients safely.
Small batches, present and qualified faculty, real bench work in five laboratories, and regular community health activities that connect classroom learning to the lives of Barmer's people.
The college runs the Diploma in Pharmacy programme under the recognised regulatory framework for pharmacy education in India and Rajasthan:
This recognition means that on successful completion of the diploma, graduates are eligible to register as pharmacists and practise legally.
