The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) is a two-year, full-time programme and the foundation qualification of the pharmacy profession in India. It prepares students to prepare, store and dispense medicines, advise patients on their safe use, and work in hospitals, retail pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry.
At our college the course is taught in the classroom and across five working laboratories, and is completed with a period of practical training in a hospital or pharmacy. The curriculum follows the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) pattern and is examined by RUHS, Jaipur.
After passing, students are eligible to register as a Pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council and practise legally.
The two-year diploma is divided into First Year and Second Year, each with theory and practical components.
Subjects follow the PCI prescribed pattern; exact paper titles are as notified by RUHS, Jaipur.
Register with the State Pharmacy Council and run or work at a retail / community medical store.
Work in government and private hospital pharmacies dispensing and managing medicines.
Production, quality control, packaging and medical representative roles in pharmaceutical companies.
Continue to B.Pharma (lateral entry) and beyond for higher pharmacy qualifications.
Apply for pharmacist posts in health departments, CHCs, PHCs and the defence services.
Use the diploma and registration to open your own licensed medical / chemist shop.
